It’s that time of year again! On May 22nd, 2014, High School theater troupes around Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania will put on their costumes and makeup one last time for the 12th annual FREDDY© Awards.

Modeled after the famous TONY® Awards, The FREDDY© Awards broadcasts live once a year on 69 WFMZ-TV.

The three-hour spectacle recognizes schools from the Lehigh PA, Northampton PA, and Warren County NJ regions for their achievement in high school musical theater.
While the show is a staple for locals, The FREDDY© Awards has become a favorite for households around the country. In 2010,
Oprah Winfrey Network acquired their documentary, Most Valuable Players. From there, the show’s popularity continued to increase. (You can even find the movie on Netflix!)
It feels like only a few years ago I was a high school theater student performing at the revolutionary awards show. (Okay, it was only two years ago.) Being a proud FREDDY© alumni and production assistant at this year’s upcoming show, I was excited to hear that my two favorite things – Viddler and Theater – will collide.
Viddler joins forces with The FREDDY©’s
This year, Viddler will be providing uploading capabilities for The FREDDY© Awards video content. This will feature an upload widget for the awards show, allowing users to upload video from any device to FREDDY© Awards broadcasting partner WFMZ. Unlike ever before, participants at The FREDDY© Awards will have the opportunity to upload videos of their experience before and after the big show. A playlist of uploaded videos will be found on WFMZ’s website.
As a company grounded in its Lehigh Valley roots, the Viddler Team is excited to dedicate their efforts to an awards ceremony that has shown the world that there really is “no business like show business.”
